Ugandan music heavyweight Eddy Kenzo has been celebrated for his instrumental role in helping fellow artist Bruno K secure a historic legal victory against Black Market Records. The UGX 130 million court ruling not only compensates Bruno K for financial losses but also sends a strong message against exploitation in Uganda’s music industry.
Kenzo, who serves as the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), took it upon himself to guide Bruno K through the legal process. He provided financial backing, introduced him to top-tier lawyers, and consistently spoke out against the injustices artists face in Uganda.
